Makes one damn good shake.
Sometimes you just need a little something rich-and-thick-and chocolate for breakfast. Does this sound antithetical to heathy eating? Consider this: cacao, which is what chocolate is made from, contains antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. Take away all that sugar and you have a yummy blast of tasty nutrition. Add this to frozen bananas, soy milk, and peanut butter, and see how yummy your morning becomes.
- 1 med-large frozen banana
- 2-3 T peanut butter
- 1 c soy milk
- ½ c chocolate non-dairy frozen ice cream (low carbohydrate one)*
- cocoa powder (optional – if your ice cream does not have the chocolate blast you are looking for)
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend to your hearts (thickness) desires. Transfer to your favorite glass and drink-in the morning glory. I love to use a straw – though I usually do not promote their use.
I love the Luv Choo-Choo-Choose Me Chocolate Coconut frozen dessert, while they call it a dessert, it has no sugars in it. And it is choooocolatieeee. If this unavailable to you, just be sure your frozen dessert is not full of sugar – read the label.
