Compassionate Action for Animals is looking for presentations for Twin Cities Veg Fest 2014 (Sunday, September 28) and Their Lives, Our Voices 2014 (Saturday, September 27).
Twin Cities Veg Fest is a one day festival that invites people to come try delicious vegan food and learn more about animal issues and plant-based diets. Presentations for Twin Cities Veg Fest should be aimed at a general audience and should not assume any strong background in animal issues, vegan nutrition, etc. Appropriate topics include vegan nutrition, animal agriculture, basic discussion of ethics & philosophy, animals in religion, etc.
Their Lives, Our Voices is a one day conference the day after Twin Cities Veg Fest aimed at current and potential animal advocates. The conference’s focus is exclusively on animals used for food. Presenters should assume that attendees have a basic familiarity with animal agriculture issues and ethics. The goal of this conference is to enable attendees to become more knowledgeable and empowered animal advocates. Appropriate topics include activist skills, in-depth discussion of particular topics, movement strategy, and any other topic that will help make the attendee a more effective advocate for animals.
All presentations at both events are 45 minutes, including time for Q&A. Presentation rooms have audio amplification and laptop projection capabilities. Speakers are expected to bring their own laptops for slides if needed.
Presenters will receive:
- Listing on the Twin Cities Veg Fest and/or Their Lives, Our Voices website including your name, photo, and bio
- Listing in the Twin Cities Veg Fest program (Twin Cities Veg Fest speakers only)
- A free exhibitor table at Twin Cities Veg Fest (Twin Cities Veg Fest speakers only)
We cannot offer an honorarium for presenters, but we do have a very limited budget to cover travel expenses for some presenters at Twin Cities Veg Fest.
